Krypton is an Intermediate Care Facility for adults who are Developmentally Disabled, (ICF/DD). Krypton is home to sixteen adults, eight females and eight males.
Special training/activities:
Training and activities are individualized and are based upon the needs and the desires of the individuals receiving services. Krypton focuses on the uniqueness of each person, what each individual wants for their life, and how people with disabilities can have fully inclusive community lives. Services are designed in a coordinated manner through an Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), to assist people with disabilities in achieving and maintaining a lifestyle as independent as possible.
Proximity to larger towns: Metropolis is located on Interstate 24 half way between Nashville, Tennessee and St. Louis, Missouri, while Paducah, Kentucky is only 10 miles away.
The claim to fame for Metropolis is that it is the self-proclaimed “Hometown of Superman”!!!
Metropolis is home to FORT MASSAC, the oldest state park in Illinois. The park provides picnicking, camping, hiking, boating, fishing, skiing and hunting within its 1,540 acres of beautiful Southern Illinois landscape.
Harrah’s Riverboat Casino is also located in Metropolis. |
