New Way is a licensed 16 bed facility for persons with developmental disabilities. It was established in 1990. New Way provides supervised, 24 hour care to its clients. Services are provided in a coordinated manner through an interdisciplinary approach that emphasizes personal choice and encourages independence in all aspects of their lives.

The facility is located in Anna, Illinois about 120 miles southeast of St. Louis and about 20 miles south of Carbondale, Illinois. Carbondale is the home of Southern Illinois University. SIU is a wonderful regional resource and has a significant impact on the entire area. The Salukis are a source of pride for everyone. In addition, southern Illinois is home to many wonderful parks and scenic areas

As its name implies, New Way is committed to improving a person’s life with personalized attention to detail and novel ways to teach new skills. The facility boasts a swimming pool and a beautiful rural setting. Many clients are provided work activities and day training by JR Centre, Inc., a local workshop that is frequently awarded three year CARF accreditations for exemplary day training services.

New Way operates on the premise that all human beings possess worth and dignity and the administration and staff work to develop new ways to develop potential so its clients may lead a more productive and rewarding life.
